Buy Pandora Charms from Pandora Dealers
If you are concerned about purchasing authentic Pandora charms you will want to make sure that you purchase your Pandora jewelry from a Pandora dealer. There are dealers in over forty countries worldwide, with over 10,000 distributors selling Pandora jewelry. There are also a lot of online stores selling Pandora style charms. These are usually not genuine Pandora charms and are usually quite a bit cheaper than the authentic ones.
It can also be somewhat risky buying Pandora charms online from popular auction sites or even from many online stores. Again, unless the store advertises that it is an actual dealer, you can almost guarantee that the charms you are buying are not made by Pandora. Some, sold online are actually designed to look like a genuine Pandora charm and they copy the actual designs of the charms although usually the detail and craftsmanship is nowhere near as good. Others are completely new designs, which are usually easy to spot as being not genuine.
If you are simply looking for charms to add to a bracelet it may not matter whether you buy a genuine charm or not, providing you are not charged Pandora prices. However, if you are actively building up your Pandora charm bracelet, which can be an investment worth thousands of dollars depending on which charms you buy and how many you own, you will want to steer clear of sites that may be questionable. Better yet, unless you are buying from an actual legitimate and well known online jewelry store you may want to visit your local jeweler and buy your charms there. That way you can guarantee that what you are buying is authentic.
There are three ways to tell if a charm is genuine or not. Pandora jewelry is hallmarked with the letters ALE and 925 on silver items or 585 on gold items. Newer bracelets and charms will also have the Pandora crown symbol on them as well; though this will only be on charms and jewelry made since 2008 as prior to that the crown hallmark was not used. Charms will be sold by authentic Pandora dealers and the actual charm itself should match pictures of the charms on the official Pandora website.
