Consider A Paint Evaluation Before You Install A Car Decal
The most important question that is commonly asked when one considers a car decal for their vehicle is whether or not the paint job will be damaged when the car decal is installed. Years ago this was a common occurrence because of the materials that were used to apply the sticker to the body or windows of the car.
Now that the decal is made of more durable but non-damaging products, the decal is safer than ever to place on your car and remove whenever you tire of it being there. Let’s look at some things you should think about before you install car decals on your vehicle.
If you are really worried about your paint job being damaged by the decal, head to an auto body paint store and have your car evaluated. Having the paint job evaluated is the safest and most effective way to discover whether or not the decals you have chosen will damage the cars paint over the course of the time you have the decals placed on your car.
It is true that the materials used today are different than twenty years ago, but some paint may not hold up to certain decals. Unfortunately if your decal is made overseas or somewhere that they are not upholding certain standards of the car decal manufacturing business, you may be out of luck and unfortunately your car will show signs of damage once the decal has been removed.
Needless to say as with almost everything in life, installing a decal to your vehicle may impose some risk. If you plan on keeping the decal for the duration of the life of the vehicle, then you have nothing to loose. However, if you change your decals like you change girlfriends, then you better consider having a paint job evaluation before you apply the decal to your car.
