You don’t have to dig trenches in your yard to install wire for a wireless dog fence. When the ground is too hard to dig these systems can be great for containment. The wireless dog fences are also good anywhere else where digging up the yard could cause a problem or to use for rentals. Being portable allows for if you should happen to move or to take them with you when you travel. The wireless dog fences can provide more convenience, ease of use and versatility.

When purchasing a wireless dog fence you will essentially have two modules 1) The receiver collar and, 2) The transmitter unit. You only need to plug it in and position it so that it creates a safety zone for your dog to use the transmitter. You can also combine several units to expand your dog’s roaming space although one transmitter is usually sufficient. In addition to the transmitter, your dog will wear the receiver collar which is the second component to the system.

Constantly searching for the transmitter the collar is designed sense the signal. The collar will be able to pick up the signal as long as your dog stays within the safety zone. If your dog wonders too far and the collar drops the signal, your dog will first hear a warning beep. If your dog continues to move towards the fence perimeter, it will then experience a mild correction shock. It is an irritating feeling that your dog will not want to experience often. This will teach them to stay within the safety zone. The correction is not powerful enough to hurt the dog, as it is similar to a shock from static electricity. Whenever your dog hears the audible signal, after a couple weeks your dog will just stop moving to the boundary, providing easy training.

You will need to train your dog to respect the boundaries so that your dog will understand it, but a wireless dog fence is quite safe and effective. You will start by first deciding the desired location for your dog’s safety zone. Then plug the transmitter unit into an indoor outlet, putting it in an unobtrusive place. The transmitter allows you to alter the radius of the safety zone to fit your needs and it is adjustable to meet your all your needs.
